Apparently, today is National Rubber Duckie Day.  I don’t know exactly what that means, but the Sesame Street YouTube channel seems to have been getting ready for it for at least the better part of a week.  

So I knew everybody else who observed the occasion was going to just be boring and post the original “Rubber Duckie” song, and I wanted to do something different.  So I picked this sketch; not only is it hilarious, not only does it feature some fantastic work from Steve as Ernie, but it shows Bert keeping his paperclips in a cigar box, in continuity with the “Gift of the Magi” plotline from Christmas Eve on Sesame Street.

And if that isn’t something that I needed to give me a lift after a disheartening week, I don’t know what is.
