In case you missed it, last weekend I attended GalaxyCon Minneapolis and had another conversation with Steve. It was sort of a two-part conversation, actually, because I talked to him in the morning and then again in the afternoon. Thus, I thought I would write about it in two blog posts as well.
I’m in the process of writing those now, and the first part, detailing our conversation of the morning, is nearing completion. However, the thought occurred to me that I might not be able to publish the second part, detailing our conversation of the afternoon, until after the next episode of Cave-In occurs. Since our conversation of the afternoon included intel on what is coming in future episodes, I thought I would provide a brief preview now.
Steve told me what he was planning for two future parodies/inserts in some detail. He didn’t expressly tell me not to write about them on my blog, but at the same time, I don’t want to spoil the surprise(s). So I’ll just give the following hints:
- Both of the ones that he told me about feature more “special guests” who have appeared alongside him at recent conventions.
- At least one of them reflects Steve’s/Weldon’s tastes in Netflix programming.
- Another one involves Weldon (and presumably Steve) having fun at Disney’s expense.
- Apparently, not all of the special guests heed Weldon’s warning about the chasm in his cave.
At any rate, it sounds like Steve and Weldon have some fun things in store for us. The next Cave-In is scheduled for November 29th at 11:29 p.m., and there’s a wealth of Black Friday material for Weldon to tap into if he is so inclined. I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait to see what happens!
Sounds like a delightful interaction and I’m happy you did not give the surprises away. The time zone,- once again- leaves me half asleep over here, but j am relying on being able to possibly be awake at 5:30 AM.Hoping to test my theory on the ancient speaker / mic arrangement I have. Then perhaps I can tune in and try to make a call. Ahhh so much to look forward to. Thanks for the heads up.

Hi again Mary,
I hope you’re well – I need to come here and speak more often (,lol). As usual though, outstanding job with the FOLM write-ups, rock on! While I thank you immensely for this brief insight, I can’t wait to read about your GalaxyCon adventure in detail. Otherworldly is how I imagine it, but as you’re the one who actually lived it, I think you can describe it more accurately. Likewise, so glad you got to see Steve again and that you guys discussed the upcoming livestreams for a bit (*I’m in slight disbelief that the next one’s just days away…). Much praise and respect to you for acting as our “Cave-In Correspondent”, I must add. With that, I’d now like to share a video link – below is GalaxyCon Minneapolis’ video of Steve’s Q&A panel for everyone’s viewing pleasure, happy watching! And once more, sincere thanks as always for your words, your perspectives, and your time, looking forward to your next post(s) and…see you 11/29, 11:29.
– Best
*P.S. – Does anything said/heard in the above clip stand out or seem different from when you were there? I remember some of the aspects you mentioned relative to the panel at Omaha’s O-Con (*in one of the respective O-Con posts), so consequently, I found it of significance to ask – for that, a final thanks!

Hi Saba,
Thanks for the link. I found this video last night. I have to say, however, that I was not in attendance for this Q&A, so I cannot speak to anything that happened there. It was completely new to me when I watched it last night, just as it must have been for you.
